It could very well be spring. I haven’t been hit by a blizzard in over twenty minutes and I believe I have feeling returning to my legs.
It may be time to venture outside and play in the garden.
Today, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and my extremities aren’t. Let’s dig in the soil, plant some flowers, mulch some roses, dance across the lawn with abandon. Oh yes.
Summer will soon be here and colour will return in many wondrous shapes and sizes. Your garden will return from its slumbers and dazzle you, and the birds and the bees.
Go for it……Enjoy!

Spring may have arrived, though I won’t be shouting it from the rooftops just yet.

It’s true, I haven’t had to tunnel through snowdrifts for several weeks, and my extremities have not suffered at the cold hands of frostbite for a while now. And just the other day I removed a layer of clothing whilst working outside. I’m still wearing three layers, but it’s start!

And the garden populations across the region are certainly showing signs of optimism. New growth is visible everywhere. Bulbs have burst into flower and the trees are covered in blossoms. Bringing much needed colour after so many weeks [months] of the pale offerings from familiar grey skies.

So it is time to relinquish the mantle of hibernation and venture forth.

Already the hum of the lawn mower can be heard. Also, the spluttering behemoth can be heard [sometimes drowned out by choice language]……the lawn mower that still drinks last year’s gas because the winter service was forgotten in favour of snow shovelling. Pushed with such vigour from the garage until contact is made with those fearsome blades of grass, when the wheezing machine dies. Ah, the joys of gardening.

But there IS joy to be found in the peaceful haven that is your garden. Where choice language
will not be required among the infant growth.

Go on, get your hands dirty…..you know you want to.

Happy gardening.

Bo.
