Quality Yard and Garden Service For Qualicum Beach, Parksville
and Nanoose Bay
Yes, I have a BLOG
About Bo Bartlett
I have been taking care of gardens in the Qualicum /
Parksville / Nanoose area for several years now. Prior to going into
business for myself, I was involved in the creation of gardens, whilst
working for a local landscaping company.
Whereas watching a garden "grow" from the irrigation system, to the
beds, to
the lawns, and everything besides, is an enjoyable process, I became
more interested in becoming involved more intimately with gardens as
they progressed through the seasons.
From the explosion of new life in spring, to the varied blossoming that
so colours the world of a garden throughout the summer and fall, to the
quietening down before winter arrives, where so much of that vibrant
life settles down to well-earned dormancy.
Each season has its own delights and a well-maintained garden enhances
the pleasure that can be found in the first Snowdrop emerging from the
soil; in the scent of a Rose, drifting upon the warm air; in the
delicate drooping blooms of a Fuchsia; in a heavily-laden Hydrangea,
dazzling against dark green leaves; in the fruit tree blossoms,
foretelling an edible harvest; in the blaze of colour from an assortment
of annuals, bursting to life for their all too brief time among the
long-term residents.
And the sounds of a garden, too, enhance the pleasure. A bird's song,
sung with gusto on a summer's morn; the buzzing of bees, busy, dusted
with pollen; the sudden "whomp" of a hummingbird as it zooms by, barely
visible to the naked eye; and a breeze, gently rattling leaves as it
meanders on its way.
The many sights and sounds and smells create a miraculous medley for the
senses in gardens the world over.
Since starting on my own, I have been blessed to meet and work for many
like-minded souls who have remained with me over the years. I would call
them customers if they didn't seem more like friends. I have been very
lucky. ... Bo Bartlett
